Keith Bruce San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl Host Committee
KEITH BRUCE
CEO & President
San Francisco Bay Area
Super Bowl Host Committee

Keith Bruce was named CEO and President of the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl Host Committee in September 2013. Super Bowl 50 was played on February 7, 2016 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA. In his role as CEO, Bruce was responsible for the Host Committee organization, including the planning, operations and delivery of the Super Bowl activities and programming leading up to and during Super Bowl week in the Bay Area. Bruce and his staff are responsible for all fundraising, partnerships and sponsorships, marketing, production, operations planning, logistics, hospitality and events related to Super Bowl 50.

Super Bowl 50 was a historic event for the NFL and the Bay Area. It was the most watched Super Bowl in history with 167.0 total television viewers. Over 1.1 million people visited Super Bowl City and the NFL Experience in downtown San Francisco, making it the largest single event in the history of the Bay Area.

The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee, under the leadership of Bruce, achieved all of their core goals that were established early in the Host Committee’s tenure.

The Super Bowl 50 Host Committee and it’s philanthropic arm, the 50 Fund, raised over $13M for local Bay Area charities and non-profits, making it the most giving and philanthropic Super Bowl in history, an early stated goal of the Host Committee. In addition, the Host Committee raised over $50M in corporate partnerships to provide the funding required to both operate the Host Committee business entity, as well as fulfill it’s obligations to the NFL, the host region and the Super Bowl 50 bid.

Super Bowl 50 was the most technologically advanced Super Bowl ever, thanks to the fan friendly technology available at Levi’s Stadium, and the progressive and innovative fan experiences at Super Bowl City created by some of Silicon Valley’s top technology companies. Bruce was responsible for bringing technology and innovation to the forefront of Super Bowl 50 and the Host Committee, recruiting many of the top tech brands to become sponsors and technology partners of the Host Committee, including Google, Intel, Apple, Yahoo, SAP, Uber, Verizon, Seagate, HPE, Extreme Networks and over a dozen other technology driven companies. Super Bowl 50 was also the most ‘shared’ in terms of total social media interactions around the Super Bowl on game day and game week.

Finally, the Host Committee achieved it’s goal of being the most inclusive and participatory Super Bowl for the Bay Area, with an estimated 600,000+ Bay Area residents visiting Super Bowl City, the free public fan village open during Super Bowl week; and tens of thousands of Bay Area fans visiting the “50 Tour” during the 2015 NFL season. The 50
Tour celebrated the eight Lombardi trophies won by the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raider, taking them on a 20+ city tour around the Bay Area during the 2015 NFL season.
